Q. What is the difference between MojoWorld Pro and MojoWorld Standard?
A. The one significant difference between Std and Pro is that Pro gives you full access to the MojoGraph node-based interface for creating functions. MojoWorld Pro includes MojoTree and MojoMove. MojoWorld Pro allows you to create new MojoMove content, whereas MojoWorld Standard plus the MojoMove add-in allows you to modify existing MojoMove animated content.
Q. Does MojoWorld import 3D objects?
A. Yes. MojoWorld imports .obj files, .dxf files, and .3ds files. MojoWorld can also import .lwo files saved from LightWave as version 6 compatible or earlier, as well as .pz3 files created with Poser 5 or Poser 6 only. MojoWorld Focus uses models which have been saved in the MojoWorld proprietary format.
Q. Can MojoWorld terrains and textures be exported to other 3D programs?
A. Yes, terrain export has been available since version 1.2. Textures are exported as bitmaps. Version 3 includes a terrain export wizard as well as the familiar terrain and planet export options available in version 2. The demo is save-disabled and as such, the demo cannot export terrains. Because of this, we have provided a directory containing samples of all the available terrain export options.
Q. How much RAM does MojoWorld need?
A. "More is better." We recommend a minimum of 128 MB of RAM be available for MojoWorld to use.
Q. What kind of processor does MojoWorld require?
A. "Faster is better." The absolute minimum is a 450 MHz Celeron or a 350 MHz G3. See the MojoWorld product pages for the recommended system requirements. If you are unsure whether your system is up to the task of running MojoWorld, please download our demo and give it a try!
Q. What kind of graphics card does MojoWorld require?
A. "Faster is better." The absolute minimum would be the equivalent of a Rage 128 with 16 MB of texture RAM. MojoWorld requires hardware OpenGL support. If you are unsure whether your video card is up to the task of running MojoWorld, please download our demo and give it a try!
Q. How are MojoWorld's texturing abilities compared to other, similar programs?
A. MojoWorld takes procedural textures farther than any application ever has. Period.
Q. How big are MojoWorld scene files?
A. Tiny: under 1 megabyte. They grow, of course, as you add content to the worlds.
Q. Is MojoWorld suitable for games development?
A. Absolutely! MojoWorld can generate entire planets for you, automatically (as opposed to doing it by hand).
Q. I got the download version of MojoWorld 3 Standard / Professional. Where is the manual?
A. Use the Help->MojoWorld Help menu item to access the manual chapters. These chapters are also included in the Demo.
Q. Can I import camera paths into MojoWorld?
A. "We're looking into it."
Q. Can I make my own, new worlds with MojoWorld?
A. Yes. MojoWorld Generator is all about creating new worlds. Even our free version 3 Viewer can create a wide variety of worlds using the Hyperspace Mixer system.
Q. Can I use more than one processor for rendering?
A. Yes. Using MojoWorld's Render Queue, portions of still images or frame ranges of animation sequences can be parcelled out and run in multiple instances of the MojoWorld application. See the tutorial on Distributed Rendering with the Uplink Queue for details.
Registration Codes
Q. I have an Activation Code but it seems to be 10 characters too short for my product. How do I get the remaining 10 characters?
A. An Activation Code is turned into a Registration Code by registering your product on the registration page.
Q. I am having problems using the Registration page to get the last 10 characters of my code. HELP!
A. Please submit a registration query. We will need the first 10 characters of your code and any error messages you encountered when using the Registration form in order to resolve your issue.
Q. I have a demo key, but it says it's expired. Why?
A. Check your system date and time. The date and time must be set correctly for a current key to work. Likewise, you must have a current key. Keys that are too old actually are expired! If your key is too old, simply request a new one.
Q. I have a demo key, but it says it's invalid. Why?
A. Again, check your system date and time. If the system date and time are set too far into the future, the key will be invalid. Also, make sure the key you are using is for the correct product. MojoWorld 3 Demo, MojoWorld Focus Demo and the MojoWorld 3 Viewer all use the same format of key, but the keys are not interchangeable.
Q. I've requested demo key, but I have not yet received it. How do I get a demo key?
A. First, please be sure that you have requested a key. Simply downloading the software does not automatically generate a key. Keys are requested by clicking one of the "Get Registration Code" buttons on the Downloads page. You must be logged in for these buttons to be displayed. Once the "Get Registration Code" button has been clicked, the appropriate key is sent via email to the address you specified when you created your Pandromeda account. The most common problem is that the email gets filtered by overzealous junk mail filters. The second most common problem is a typo made in the email address. You may edit your account to correct or change your email address. Also note that we are certain that users with email addresses at btinternet.com have the code email blocked. If your address is at btinternet.com, please report this problem to them. If at all possible, use an alternate email address to request a code, as we are not sure if our replies to support requests from btinternet.com users get through either!
Q. I have a code for Photo Artist Express, but it doesn't work. Why?
A. There is a display problem with Photo Artist Express codes. These codes have a Personal Info code and a Serial Number code. The Personal Info code is shown as OEM-12345-678 but should be entered as OEM-12345678 (omit the second dash character). The Serial Number is shown as 1111-12222-23333-34444-45555-5 but should be entered as 11111-22222-33333-44444-55555 (move each of the dash characters over by one).
Q. I have MojoWorld 2SE from a magazine cover CD. How do I get a 2SE Registration Code?
A. You will need the six-digit magazine code. Instructions for obtaining a magazine code vary from magazine to magazine. Because these magazine cover CD deals were set up by a third party, we at Pandromeda don't know the specific instructions for obtaining a magazine code. Once you have a magazine code, start on the MojoWorld 2SE product page.
Q. I am a registered 3.0 user and I still can't find the 3.1 update on my 'My Downloads' page. Why not?
A. Many users have created multiple accounts at the Pandromeda website. To access the 3.1 update, you must be logged in as the same user name to which your 3.0 key is registered. If you cannot remember what user name your code is registered to, the first thing to try is to go to the password reset page and enter your email address into the second field. This will send you an email message containing a password change link for each account associated with your email address. You need not complete the password change(s) unless you have actually forgotten the password(s). These password change emails include the alternate account name(s) that you have created. Log into each one in order to find the one to which your v3 code is registered. If you still cannot locate your v3 code after trying this, please submit a registration query and include the first 10 characters of your v3 code. Your v3 code is displayed in the File->Info dialog in the MojoWorld application.
Q. When I launch the installer for a MojoWorld product on Windows, I get the error 'Unable to read all data for graphic expansion' and then the installer doesn't install anything. What should I do?
A. Go into the Regional and Language Options Control Panel and set the Language for non-Unicode Programs option to English. It can be set back to your preferred Asian language after the installer completes.
Q. What do I do when MojoWorld crashes at start up with the error "OpenGl error occurred (MojoUI::CheckGL)"?
A. There is a problem finding the hardware OpenGL drivers. Check to make sure you have the latest video drivers for your card and that they are properly installed.
Q. When MojoWorld launches, it offers to show me a QuickStart Tutorial. I say 'yes', but then nothing happens! Where is the QuickStart Tutorial and why doesn't it open?
A. The QuickStart Tutorial is an html file local to your MojoWorld installation. Asking for the QuickStart Tutorial at start-up, or using the Help->QuickStart Tutorial menu otpion is supposed to open your system's default web browser and view this html file. When this does not happen, it's a system-specific configuration issue that is well beyond the scope of this document. There is a simple work-around, which is to manually locate and open the html file from your preferred web browser manually. The file is named GenQuickStartTut.htm and is located in the HelpPages sub-folder of your MojoWorld installation.
Q. I have to input my registration code every time I launch MojoWorld. Why is this?
A. If MojoWorld Standard is registered with a MojoWorld Pro key, it requests the key each time as a reminder that the installation is not complete. To solve that problem, the installation must be completed by applying the MojoWorld Pro Upgrade installer. If this problem is happening with a product other than MojoWorld Standard, or is happening with MojoWorld Standard with a Standard key, the problem lies in the permissions on the install folder. For the registration code to permanetly be recorded, MojoWorld must be able to write a file to its install folder. In most cases, the installation of the MojoWorld application sets the folder permissions correctly, but on some machines, the operating system may have been configured to override these permissions. The folder containing the MojoWorld application must be set to be writeable by all users in order for the registration code to be permanently recorded. Please refer to your computer's operating system documentation for how to change the permissions on a folder.
Q. When I export terrain at a resolution larger than 128x128, MojoWorld crashes on my Windows box. Also, terrain exports at 128x128 or smaller result in a solid black texture map. Is this a bug?
A. Yes, this is a known windows-only bug in MojoWorld 3.0 - it has been fixed in the 3.1.1 Std/Pro Upgrades. Check your 'My Downloads' page to get the upgrade.
Q. MojoWorld does not show up in my Add/Remove Programs!
A. Yes, this is a known windows-only bug in MojoWorld 3.0 - it has been fixed in the 3.1.1 Std/Pro Upgrades. Check your 'My Downloads' page to get the upgrade.
